Job Title
Press Operators
Description

We have vacancies for 3 Press Operators (1 to start in May, 1 to start in August and 1 to start in October)

Principal Responsibilities
The extrusion of Bars as required against the daily plan, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards and adhering to Quality requirements at all time.
Job Requirements

Heater Operator

  • Setting up of the machine, in line with the Job Ticket, ensuring it is at the correct temperature and speed.
  • Sending out the heated bars at the correct rate/speed for the job.

Die Man

  • Be conversant with the Daily Programme.
  • Identify the Die Sizes and quantities required to meet the daily programme
  • Be responsible for changing the Dies, ensure correct size and quantity are used.

Handing Gear Operator

  • Pushing out of the Debris into the correct containers when each Extrusion has finished.
  • Separation of the Extrusion Pads from the Debris, and ensuring these are place in the correct Shute for reuse.
  • Sorting and placing the alloy debris into the correct bins for reuse.

Run Out

  • Pull the Bars to the end of the Run Out, ensuring that they are extruded as straight as possible.
  • Continually carry out visual checks of the Bars for any quality issues.

Rolls

  • Assist in the Rolling and Straightening of the Bars

Person Specification

  • Previous experience gained within a heavy engineering environment would be an advantage.
  • Good team working and interpersonal skill but capable of working on own initiative.
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Able to multi-task
  • Attention to detail

This work can be physically demanding and we would expect the job holder to observe the relevant safe working and environmental practices and procedures including the use of personal protective equipment.
