About Us

Bolton Aerospace Limited, located in East Anglia near to the Suffolk coast has been manufacturing wrought copper alloys in Ipswich for nearly 100 years.

From its origins to the present day the factory has continued to produce high quality bronzes, high tensile brasses, cast and wrought phosphor and leaded bronzes and special alloys. These can be produced in a wide range of shapes and sizes-rounds, hexagons, squares, rectangles, discs, rings and hollows.

The facility incorporates three foundries for the melting and casting of raw billet, an extrusion press, two hot rolling mills and a machine shop for turning and milling forged shapes.

In the field of corrosion resistance, high strength and durability the comprehensive range of alloys made at Ipswich has been second to none and the processes from raw material melting to final product inspection have been carried out on one site.

The development of nearby ports, such as Felixstowe, Harwich and Ipswich itself, has resulted in improved road, rail and sea links to and from the area. This has greatly enhanced the company’s position for exporting to all parts of the world, especially continental Europe, Scandinavia, the United States of America and Canada.
